Discount Race Day Tickets
For
those of you who were not able to purchase discount race day tickets at our
kickoff party, the December 16 and 23 practices will be your only additional
opportunities to purchase them. Discount race day tickets can be used for our
four Sunday home races (3 regular season races plus the league's Kathy Bartolini
Trophy/Fun Race). Tickets are $37 each and represent a $7 to $9 savings for
each race. Tickets must be purchased in advance to take advantage of this
special rate. Discount tickets will not be available at the Nashoba ticket
windows on Sunday race mornings.
Cash (exact, please) or checks payable
to NVSC (no credit or debit cards). Vouchers will be available for pick up at
the January 6 practice prior to our first home race on January 9. Note that
Nashoba gift cards cannot be used to cover this cost as we are separate from the
operations of Nashoba Valley Ski Area.

Thursday Practice Information

- A designated NVSC area inside the base lodge cafeteria will be utilized for booting up, storing of gear, and where racers should go to if separated from their group during practice. NVSC Trustees will be available on snow and in the base lodge cafeteria to assist, answer questions, and provide direction. Please make note of your group and coach in advance to help us get first practice off to a smooth start.

Practice groups are divided by age group and within each age group, by green, red, or blue designations. Please make note of your group and color in advance to make it easier to find your group Thursday night.

Racers should meet their coach/group by 6:20pm in the vicinity of the base lodge. Signs will identify the various groups - J6 (8 and under racers) groups will be identified by "Mittens," "Goggles," "Poles," and so forth. J5 and up groups can be found by locating the J5, J4, and J3 signs and the appropriate coach. And as a refresher, note that J6s are 8 years old and younger, J5s are 9 and 10 year olds, J4s are 11 and 12 year olds, and J3s are 13 and 14 year olds.

If during a practice, a NVSC racer gets separated from his/her practice group and is having trouble relocating the group, please make sure they know to ski down to the base lodge cafeteria, go inside, and inform the adults that are inside of the situation. NVSC always has a parent in the base lodge cafeteria as well as a parent skiing to handle this type of event. These workers are in radio contact so the child can be reunited with the appropriate practice group.

Any J6 racer who didn't pick up their practice bib at the kickoff party can do so in the base lodge cafeteria beginning at 5:30pm Thursday. Keep it for the season and don't forget to wear it for every practice.

Be sure to get your NVSC helmet sticker! Look for them when practice groups are gathering prior to the start of practice.

For those of you who weren't able to attend the season kickoff party, your racer's team t-shirt can be picked up in the base lodge cafeteria Thursday night beginning at 6:30pm.

Finally, please be patient as first practices are often "organized chaos." But don't worry as you'll get the hang of it as the season progresses!

Discount Practice Night Tickets
All NVSC racers are eligible to purchase discount practice night tickets at each Thursday practice. Tickets are $25 each and represent an $8 savings for each practice. Tickets will be sold from the ticket window adjacent to the main lodge each practice night beginning at 5:30pm. Nashoba has been provided a team roster so just mention that you are a member of NVSC and they will check you off.
